Ethnology Museum

Founded in 1965, the National Ethnology Museum is home to a wide range of artefacts and objects from many countries, in accordance with its universalist outlook. Amongst them, one can highlight collections resulting from successive campaigns carried out in Portugal, including farming tools and other work instruments and objects related with rural life in Portugal.

The huge collection also features African objects that are representative of the peoples and cultures of Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroon. There are also important collections representing the indigenous peoples of Amazonia, Indonesia, Timor and Macau.
